October Prayer Pointers:

This month, we want to uphold the social and political crisis in Hong Kong in prayer even as weeks of protests show no sign of abating still.

1. Pray against the unrest and the spirit of violence hitting the Hong Kong streets. Many clashes took place between police and the protestors during the riots. Pray for God’s intervention to bring such clashes to a halt and that by His mighty hand, He protects the lives of the civilians in the midst of such conflicts.

2. Pray for wisdom, humility and courage for the people of Hong Kong, the government and the Church to handle the situation in Hong Kong in a right and effective manner. Pray that healthy ways will be sought to navigate the divisions and bring about agreement. Pray that the people of Hong Kong will love one another in the midst of their differences in opinions and positions.

3. Pray that the Hong Kong government has discernment and wisdom to handle the demands of the protest movement. Pray that the Hong Kong government will be able to find ways to address the discontent in the society and to look for good and right solutions to help the people of Hong Kong. Pray that trust and cooperation will return to the hearts of the Hong Kong people for their government.

4. Pray that the Church in Hong Kong will not join in the protest movement but will unite in prayer. In upholding justice she will not resort to human wisdom but will rely on the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and the sovereignty of the Lord.

5. Pray for peace to return to the land of Hong Kong soon.
