Class Leaders for Special Needs

Role

– Teach and facilitate activities with children with Special Needs
– Prepares lessons and materials for teaching
– Help them stay engaged throughout Service
– Pray for/with the children in your group
– Support ministry staff, if needed, to communicate with parents
Pre-requisites
先决条件
– Enjoys working with children with special needs and their families
– Therapists (speech, occupational, physio) will be a great bonus to this ministry
– Special Ed teachers are very welcomed

Role

– Prepares the service order ( e.g. putting in the timings for the different service elements that should be taking place”(from what time to what time , what elements of the service should take place) and send it to all leaders
– List the breakdown of “events” happening in the service order
– Coordinates with the Master teacher on Telegram chat and teachers prior to actual Service
– Coordinates the actual running of service/s

Master Teacher

  • Do up slides for teaching
  • Teach the lesson for Sparkle kids (aged 3-6) and/or Shine kids (aged 7-10)

  • Have a passion for teaching children
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Able to engage children effectively
  • Have creativity to come up with games/activities/craft that can tie in with the lesson
  • Have basic IT skills
  • Prior teaching experience is good but not a must

For Annual Shine Camp

Craft

Role Description: 

  1. Prepare and Organize Materials: Gather and arrange craft supplies before each session. 
  2. Assist Children: Guide children through craft projects, ensuring they understand instructions and use materials safely. 
  3. Cleanup: Help clean up the craft area after each session. 

Snack Art

Role Description: 

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Organize and prepare food items for snack art activities. 
  2. Assist Children: Guide children in creating art with their snacks, ensuring cleanliness and safety. 
  3. Cleanup: Maintain a clean and hygienic snack area before, during, and after activities. 

Games

Role Description: 

  1. Plan Activities: Prepare a variety of fun and engaging mass games. 
  2. Supervise Play: Ensure children play safely and follow the rules of each game. 
  3. Manage Equipment: Set up and take down game equipment.  

Worship

Role Description: 

  1. Performs Songs: Lead worship songs and actions of camp songs. 
  2. Teach Songs: Encourage participation and enthusiasm when teaching the children the songs and actions.  

Decoration and Props

Role Description: 

  1. Design and Create: Create decorations, backdrops, banners, and props to enhance the camp environment based on camp theme. 
  2. Setup: Decorate rooms and spaces before the camp starts. 
  3. Maintain: Ensure decorations and props remain in good condition throughout the camp. 

Refreshments

Role Description: 

  1. Prepare and Serve Food: Organize and serve snacks and meals to campers and volunteers. 
  2. Maintain Hygiene: Ensure food handling and serving areas are clean and sanitary. 
  3. Monitor Supplies: Keep track of food supplies and inform staff when stocks are low. 

Registration

Role Description: 

  1. Welcome Campers: Greet campers and their families as they arrive, distribute name tags, and create a warm, friendly atmosphere. 
  2. Handle Paperwork: Ensure that parents have signed the indemnity form and other necessary documents upon drop-off. 
  3. Assist with groupings of children: Assign children to their groups. 

Concert

Role Description: 

  1. Stage Hand & Concert Manager: Follow cues and instructions precisely during rehearsals and performances and ensuring that the concert is running smoothly. 
  2. Emcee: Help host the concert, introduce the camp, and keep the program running smoothly.
  3. Ushering: Guide attendees to their seats and manage crowd control.

First Aid

Role Description: 

  1. Provide Care: Administer basic first aid to campers and volunteers as needed. 
  2. Monitor Safety: Ensure the camp environment is safe and respond to any medical emergencies. 
  3. Report to Staff: Assess the situation and report the incidents to staff for necessary follow-up. 

Audio / Visual

Role Description: 

  1. Setup Equipment: Set up and manage audio and visual equipment for presentations and performances. 
  2. Operate During Camp: Run sound and slides during camp activities. 

Group Leader

Role Description: 

  1. Lead Group: Supervise and guide a group of 10 children through camp activities including facilitating circle time for group discussion. 
  2. Provide Support: Offer assistance and encouragement to children as they participate in activities. 
  3. Ensure Safety: Monitor the safety and well-being of group members. 

Photographer / Videographer

Role Description: 

  1. Capture Moments: Take photos and videos of camp activities and events. 
  2. Create Simple Video: Create a recap video to be shown on the last day. 

Sponsorship

Role Description: 

  1. Sponsor children from low-income families to participate in the camp.
